Gert Heidenreich reads Stanislaw Lem
Reading from “The Star Diaries” and panel discussion
With his “Star Diaries”, Polish author and philosopher Stanislaw Lem has created a collection of stories that seem to be science fiction but raise fundamental questions of human existence. With ironic distance and absurd metaphors, the fictional travel reports address sociological, psychological and ethical questions that also arise in connection with research into artificial intelligence or learning machines. Author, journalist and audio book speaker Gert Heidenreich reads from “The Star Diaries” at the Open Innovation Campus in Tübingen’s Westspitze.
The reading will be followed by a discussion with Prof. Regina Ammicht Quinn and Prof. Steffen Staab. Ammicht Quinn is chair of the Cyber Valley Public Advisory Board, Staab is Cyber Valley professor at the University of Stuttgart. The event is hosted by Cyber Valley Public Engagement Manager Patrick Klügel.
The event is a cooperation of vhs Tübingen and Cyber Valley with the Tübingen Book Festival. Tickets: www.tuebinger-buecherfest.de
