AI in medicine – chances, risks, challenges
Fruzsina Molnár-Gábor will give an impulse on the legal issues of AI use in (bio-)medicine. Afterwards, Cordula Kropp will talk with her and the physician Götz Martin Richter.
Prof. Dr. jur. Fruzsina Molnár-Gábor, winner of the Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz-Prize (2020) is professor at the University of Heidelberg, member of the Young Academy of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina as well as of the European Ethics Council. Her research interests include medical and data protection law.
Prof. Dr. med. Götz Martin Richter is Medical Director of the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Klinikum Stuttgart. He is using artificial intelligence in a study to detect breast and prostate cancer.
Prof. Dr. Cordula Kropp is a sociologist specializing in risk and technology research. at the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Stuttgart. Under her direction, the TechnikRadar 2021 investigated the attitudes of Germans toward the digitalization of the healthcare system.

A project of the University of Stuttgart: Interchange Forum for Reflecting on Intelligent Systems (IRIS), International Center for Cultural and Technological Research (IZKT) and the Stuttgart Media University in cooperation with the Stuttgart Public Library.
